Missourian, Cape Girardeau, Mo. Sept. 1996 MYRTLE I. DOWD Marble Hill, Mo. -- Myrtle I. Dowd, 93, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 1996, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown. She was born Aug. 24, 1903, daughter of Louis and Rhoda Ridings Upchurch at Hurricane Fork. She married Andrew Jack Dowd who preceded her in death. Dowd was a mother and homemaker. She is survived by four daughters, Lois Griffin and Wilma Brewington, both of Fredericktown, Joyce Long of Marble Hill and Juanita Parsons of Hermann; two step-daughters, Mildred Stroup and Laura Bollinger, both of Fredericktown; a brother, Charles Upchurch of Rapid City, S.D.; 39 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two stepsons and two stepdaughters. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Mrble Hill. The Rev. Bud Snyder will officiate with burial to follow at Hurrican Fork Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, from 5 to 9 p.m.
