Is anyone familiar with the Sumac Post Office in Bollinger County? My husband's great grandfather, Samuel Y. Bennett was the posmaster at this post office from 8/26/1870 to 7/4/1873. Is Sumac in Lorance Township? Samuel Y. Bennett was enumerated with his family in the Bollinger County 1870 Federal census (Lorance Township/Marble Hills Post Office.) Samuel's brother, Frank (Francis) A. Bennett and family was also enumerated in the same township. I haven't been able to locate Sumac on a map, either online or state map. Does Sumac still exist?
