    3. I recently received the following obituary as a newspaper clipping which was undated. Does anyone know the approx. date of death of Rev. J. A. [Joseph A.] Russell, or where he might be buried? I assume that he's buried somewhere in Bollinger County. I believe this obit probably dates between 1910 and 1915, but not certain. If you know, could you please post the information to the Mailing List in the form of a reply to this message? DEATH OF PIONEER PREACHER LUTESVILLE. Rev. J. A. Russell, familiarly known as "Uncle Joe" Russell died at his home at Lutesville on last Saturday of pneumonia, aged 73 years. He was well known in St. Francois county, where he served for some time as pastor of the Farmington circuit of the M. E. Church, South. He was an old soldier on the Confederate side in the civil war and lost an arm at the battle of Franklin, Tenn. He was also Chaplain of the House of Representatives in 1903. The funeral services were conducted at Lutesville Sunday morning by Rev. N. B. Henry, of Bonne Terre. The deceased leaves a widow, one daughter and 5 sons. One son, John lives near Farmington. The News joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family. Thanks! B. Warner bkwofc@i1.net

    3. Thanks Ellen! I assume you mean J. A. Russell? I'm still somewhat confused, however, since obit indicates that he died on a Saturday, and April 18th in the year 1911 fell on a Tuesday. Also, assuming age of 73 years at time of death as given in obit is correct, it does not compute out with dates given in cometery listing as they compute to age of 78 years. Either the cemetery listing is incorrect or the information contained in newspaper was incorrect. Are there any other resources available in Bollinger County where these dates could be double-checked? Bettye > J. A. Warner is buried in the Slaybaugh cemetary > in Bollinger County.
