    3. April 13, 1911 Lutesville News The Rev. Joseph A. Russell One of the oldest and best known ministers of the M.E. Church, South, in this section of the state, died at his home in Lutesville Saturday morning, April 8, 1911, after a short illness. Mr. Russell was a native of Tennessee and an ex-Confederate soldier, having lost an arm at the battle of Franklin. he was about 73 years of age and up to a short time before his demise bid fair to work in his favorite service many years. Rugged, hearty and ready at all times for any turn of fortune, he was the typical old-time preacher, who had a home at every hamlet and crossroads. Rev. N. B. Henry of Bonne Terre conducted the funeral of his old friend and brother, after which all that was mortal of him was laid to rest in Slaybaugh cemetery. (Bollinger Co.) John Russell of Libertyville was at the bedside of his father. Joseph Russell of St. Louis came down last week to be at the bedside of his father. Lutesville News. > [Original Message] > From: B.
