He lived from 1825 to 1874. His father is supposed to be Isaish Abernathy and his mother Sarah. He married David Abernathy to Aby Innman on 7/22/1868, and he married Laurence Abernathy to Frances Robinson on 11/15/1870. Laurence is my great Grandfather, and I wonder if it is more than a coincidence that David A. performed the marriage. Laurence is the son of Eva Abernathy whose parents are unknown. There are some hints that she may be a sister to David A. Abernathy. I'm trying to get around a wall on Eva's parents. The David who married Aby also may be related. I can not locate his parents. In 1870 his mother Joanna is living in his household. I can not find her any earlier than 1870. In 1870 David and Aby are living next to Matthew Abernathy who married Barbrey Eaker. Barbrey is a first cousin to my great Grandfather. This Matthew in 1860 was in the household of Caleb Eaker along with Eva Abernathy who is my great great Grandmother, my great Grandfather Laurence and his twin sister Teletha. Matthew is not Eva's son, so maybe he's a nephew or brother. I found an obit for David Abernathy who married Elvira Inman 22 jul 1868. It does not give his parents names but he died 29 May 1929 in Thawville, Ill., and is buried there. He was born 31 March 1845 in N.C. He had eight children Christine Matthew Barbara Walthers Emma Houetzel and the others are not listed. --- "G. L.
