    1. [MOBOLLIN] From List Mom - Vacations and Unsubscribing
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, It is that time of year when some of you will be leaving on Vacations. You might want to consider unsubscribing from the list while you are gone and then resubscribing when you return. The easiest way to do this is by using Password Central. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will receive a e-mail list of all Rootsweb Mailing Lists you belong to. You can unsubscribe using this e-mail. Save it and you then have a list of mailing lists you want to re-subscribe to. When you return, you can check the Archives for this list at http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ Just type in the name of the list and you can check the messages for the dates you were gone. The following was shared with me and I think it is one of the best Maps I have seen showing the growth and history of the United States. http://www.animatedatlas.com/movie.html I appreciate each of you and know that it is because of you our list is the success it is. 3. Lorena, I'm tring to find a documented link between Phillip Killian sr and Phillip Killian jr. I do believe they are father and son, but have nothing to officially prove it. Phillip sr. came to Cape Girardeau Co (which later became Bollinger Co) about 1804, 5 or 6 and Phillip jr was born about 1806-8 in Cape Girardeau Co. I was wondering if you have anything (deeds, wills, census, court records, etc..) that may provide a documented proof between Phillip sr and jr. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. mark >>> renas@usit.net 05/08/03 09:05AM >>> My thanks to all who attended the meetings at Regional Library in Jackson on the 22nd and at the Bollinger County Library on the 24th. I was delighted to see so many cherished friends and meet so many new ones. I returned home on the 27th and when I logged on to collect my email on the 28th, my computer crashed. Actually it had been giving me problems, but I wasn't ready to have it give up the ghost just yet. As of today my guru has assured me I have a state of the art piece of equipment, if I can but learn how to operate it! If you have contacted me in recent months, waiting for response or are on the waiting list, please drop me a note. I know I had emails to answer before I left and more while I was gone that I don't have addresses for now, nor do I remember who asked what.... 1. [MOBOLLIN] From List Mom - A few thoughts and reminders
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, It is time again for one of my information messages. First of all I want to thank each of you who go out of your way to follow the list rules. I belong to many lists in my research and truly feel you are the best list members out there. If you are enjoying this list and would like to know what other genealogical lists Rootsweb has for you, go to John Fuller's site located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html It is the best source for Genealogical mailing lists that I know of. If you would like to visit the archived messages for this list or any Rootsweb List you may go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com and type in the name of the list and from there you can search by date. There is a great Rootsweb site, Password Central, you can go to if you want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ To unsubscribe from any Rootsweb list send only the word UNSUBSCRIBE to XXXX-L-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM Naturally exchange the XXXX with the name of the list and the L with a D if you are on the Digest List. I have very few rules on the lists I take care of; the main one is to treat your fellow members as you would like to be treated, also Roll Calls will be called by me, with a beginning date and an ending date. The posting of virus warnings, chain letters, political announcements, current events and test messages are NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me, KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net Please remember that I am here, working behind the scenes. When an offending message is posted, just DELETE it. Know that I am most likely taking care of the problem personally with the person who posted the message. When you send your unhappiness to the list you just continue on the problem both for the members and for myself. If you are concerned that I have missed the message, you can send me a message at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. Would you like to see the growth in the United States between 1650 and 1983? This is a great visual. I have shared it before but I am sure we have many new members since then. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~stephan/Animation/us.gif This is your list. I am only here to take care of it for you and to make sure it runs smoothly. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to send them to me. 2. Betty I. Silfies
    3. Dear Lorena, I too wish I could be there but I live on the other coast, in PA. though I might get to Bollinger in June for some research. In one of your books you mentioned James Cronister/McCronister, and that you had more on him but could not find it at the time. If you have any more on James I would appreciate it. I just sent in a supplement on him to the DAR after I got his revolutionary pension file. By the way he is German, original name Kronester. If you have any more about his family, or the Rows Martindales and Revells I would appreciate hearing if you have time. Thank you so much, and hope you have a great meeting. Betty Silfies

    3. Just want to tell all of my friends that I will be presenting a program at the Cape Girardeau Co., Gen Society meeting at the Regional Library in Jackson, 7 PM, April 22, titled "Are your Genealogy Treasures In My Files". This is the program I was to present last year but had to cancel due to the flood. I will also be at the Library there all afternoon on the 22nd to talk to anyone who wishes to drop by. I will be at the Bollinger Co., Library on Thursday, April 24th all day to talk with people there. After 56 years of research, I'm sorting out, sharing the many unpublished records, looking for homes for others and generally putting my house in order. I will be in the area April 19th-26th. Hope to see many of you there Lorena
