Sharon: If your Edward is the son of James and Emma Crites Borders b. 1892 then yes you are a part of the family. I only have four children listed for James and Emma and they seem to have moved away from Bollinger County. I need all the information I can get for that family. Thanks for writing. If you send me information, please send it in word, plain text. I do not have a gen. program on my computer. Lorena, My Bollinger County-born father's maternal grandmother was Missouri Belle (Virgin) Owens, a daughter of Enoch Virgin and Elizabeth (Shearing) Crites Virgin. Belle's paternal grandmother was Fronica "Fanny" (Hahn) Virgin, the wife of Samuel Virgin. I'd be happy to work with you to fill in any blanks before 1900 and share with you any information I have on Samuel and Fanny Virgin's descendants post 1900. Regards from Virginia, Clete Ramsey
I have a Edward Rosewell Borders is he part of your line? Thanks, Sharon
I'm clearing out organizing and sharing my unpublished records that is in my 56 year collection of genealogical research. Presently I am helping with a Hahn Book and currently working on the descendants of John Hahn, son of Benedict, b.1774 in NC and his two wives, Catharine whom he married ca 1799 in NC and she died 1805 (maiden name unknown) and Elizabeth Slinkard whom he married in 1806 in MO and their 10 children. If you are a part of this family and would like to bring your family up to date ( I have them fairly well documented through 1900) I would appreciate your contributions before I submit this for the book. Here is a list of the children who married and had families. (1) Fronica (Fanny) Hahn b. 7 Jan 1800 NC d. after 1860, Bollinger Co., MO m. Samuel Virgin and had 11 children. Surnames involved here are: Borders, Richards, Whitehead, Ramsey, Long, Cox, Bedwell, Ladd, Edwards and many more. (2) George Hahn b. 1801 NC m. Hannah Welker and had 2 children, both of whom died before 1850 under age 21. (3) Elizabeth Hahn b. 29 Feb 1804 d. after 1880 m. 1st John Barks and 2nd George Masters. Both husbands died without issue and she lived with her brother John, 1850 and the rest of her years with brother Phillip. (4) Phillip Hahn b. 15 June 1814 d. 26 Apr 1881 m. Mary _____ and lived on the property that Hahn Chapel Church is on (which he donated) Their married children are: Eva Catherine Hahn b. 22 Sept 1838 d. before 1864 Phillip Barks. He later m. her cousin Catherine and lived in Stoddard Co., MO. He and Eva Catharine had a son Jefferson m. Sarah Slagle and they had a son Charlie who died single. Sarah Hahn b. 8 apr 1840 d. before 1900 census m. 28 Feb 1867 her cousin George Washington Hahn b. 16 Oct 1840 d. after 1904. Only two children found for them, Mary A. I. Hahn b. 1868 and Ora Lee Hahn b. June 1877 d. 7 Apr 1947. He married Alvina Schriener and they had a daughter living in St. Louis 1947. No mention of surviving siblings in his obit. John "Houtz" Hahn b. 17 Jan 1846 d. 1 Apr 1928 m. 15 Dec 1872 Bollinger Co. Sarah Catherine Stevens. They had four children: Charles A Hahn who married and died in Exter Ca without issue Lee Otis Hahn m. Martha J. Lawrence and they had Lawrence "Doc" Hahn who died without issue. Luther D. Hahn m. and had a family in Arlington TX. Clara Mae Hahn m. Joseph Alonzo Stephenson and had a family in Ft. Worth TX. The last child of John and Elizabeth Slinkard Hanh to marry and rear a family was: (5) Catherine Hahn b. 18 Aug 1816 and d. before 1860 census. She married ca 1836 Andrew J. Masters b. 1816 d. before 1860 They had 9 children listed on 1850 census and possibly another b. 1851 The first four seem to have married before 1860, but the other 6 are found as possible orphans living in various households in Bollinger County. Can anyone shed some light on this family? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lorena

Don / other readers of the list I have a question about a "Rosemore Smith" I met in the late '40's - early '50's (to late in time to be the Rosemore Smith referred to in the MOBOLLIN-L recently). At the time I met him he was living at or near Coldwater MO in Madison Co (slight possibility it was Wayne Co. since the line is close to that area). He may have had a little business establishment there . . . my memory is unclear on that since I was only 10 - 12 yrs. old at the time. He had an unusual way of playing the guitar which intrigued me and may have been partly responsible for me taking up the instrument myself. He's of no relation to me but I've always been curious been curious about his history and what ever became of him. He seemed very alone at the time I met him. I found the following information in the SSDI records that PROBABLY is him. I thought; surely he's related to the "other", earlier Rosemore Smith somehow but I see no listing for a son or grandson named after him. Anyone out there have any information on this Rosemore Smith? Name: ROSEMORE SMITH SSN: 499-05-2205 Last Residence: 63669 Born: 19 Aug 1896 Last Benefit: Died: 15 Nov 1969 State (Year) SSN issued: MO (Before 195) I assumed that 63669 was the postal ZIP code for his last residence but my sources no longer show it as a valid ZIP although codes that are "close" are Patton - 63662 (Bollinger Co.) and Pilot Knob 63663 (Iron Co.)
