They had three children, sons,Harry William born in KY, Allen Eugene born in MO, and daughter, Ollie Mae, born in ILL. Claude died in 1951 in Arbyrd or Senath, MO. He is buried in Senath, MO. Violet died in Dec. of 1973 in Paducah, KY and is buried there. I have not been able to find them on the 1920 or 1930 census anywhere. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

Dear List Members, If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fullers Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. Please send this request to KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net not to the entire list. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search and from there you can search by dates. If you are having problem and I do not answer you right away, know that I will. I like many of you work full time outside of my home. I am fortunate that I can check my e-mail any time I wish, but know that there are spaces of time I cannot. I always check my e-mail each and every evening and will respond to message that need me then and there. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. When sending a posting to the list it would help if you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line. Doing this also might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. Many members are on many many lists and when they see a subject line that reads "My Ancestors" they just delete it. 2. When posting a query regarding a surname it would help all of us if you would put your surname in CAPS. This way the members can easily pick out the surnames you are looking for. On the other hand when the entire message is in CAPS we feel that we are being yelled at. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. 6. Now, the hardest thing is when one of our own, a fellow member becomes upset about a posting from one from one of us. It is so hard not to jump in and add our two cents. I want you to know how much I appreciate it when you just let these posting go by and delete them. Know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problem. If you ever have a concern that I might have missed a message that needs addressed you are welcome to contact me during the day at Kathleen.burnett@era.com or in the evenings at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. 7. If your list has the gateway open, meaning the messages posted on the board also hit he list, know that every once in a while a SPAM message that is caught by the Board filter slips through the gateway and hits the list before it can be stopped. JUST DELETE IT. By responding the the list regarding he offending message, you just continue it on, and there is not one thing I can do about it at that point. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. It is your list and is here for your benefit. If you have suggestions or comments you would like in future reports, you only need to send them to me. Hello all! I am interested in finding information on the DRY CREEK CEMETERY book to place in our library. However, I have to know certain information about the book before I can present it to the committee. Is there anyone on the list who has this book in their possession and can help me with: The number of pages? The year is was published? The name of the publisher? Thank you so very much. jamie in california, for the Huntington Beach Central Library
Dear List Members, I just ran across an interesting Website, "Courthouse Experiences" http://www.bcpl.net/~dmg/courthouse.htm Not every county is listed, but the ones listed gave helpful information regarding the attitudes of those working in the courthouses. I might suggest that if you have had a positive or negative courthouse experience you add them to this site. I now know how to prepare myself for several courthouses I want to visit later this year. I'd like a copy for my own library, I live in Texas and do not get to Missouri as often as I'd like to. Some of my research takes place late at night, so instant access to a book is pretty nice. Thanks so much. Cathy Hill
This subject came up more than a year ago. At that time Mrs. James, the author of Gone But Not Forgotten, was in poor health and no further printings were planned. The Bollinger county Historical Society at one time said they might reprint the book if there was enough interest. I do not know what has happened since that time. I have a copy so I was not to interested. Hello Lloyd and thank you for the information. Enoch was married to Sarah WHITENER, (our Grandpa and ma).. But I can't seem to find any thing out about him before he married her..They had 4 children, Robert, Carl, Oph, and Hazel, all are dead now. I think the children all died in California as well as Sarah, but Enoch died in MO. and is buried some where, I think in Bollinger Co., I can't seem to find where he was born either.. Just a brick wall before MeMa (Sarah) d/o Elijah WHITENER and Susan CHEEK.. I think according to the LDS files that Enoch's mom was also a CHEEK, Sophia as you stated, and her name was spelled as you spelt in on their census(LDS).. I don't know if Enoch had siblings or not..more that likely he did but I don't know of any.. Thank you for your help again and if you do have more info on them can you share with me ?? Dear Lorena, When we went to the cemetary there is now a big sign saying it is the Borders cemetary. I'm sure its the same place because there is a church there. Across the road there was a house and on the mailbox was the name Borders. I didn't think anyone was home, but I think they may be the caretakers for the cemetary, it seemed to be well taken care of. How do you fit into this line? Are you able to receive pictures? I 'll see if my husband know's where I put them so I wouldn't lose them Ha Ha. Sharon
Sharon: The cemetery is Balch Cemetery that you are talking about. I grew up about 4 miles from there on Clubb Creek, right near the church (now route PP.) When you can get your family together from James & Emma down to the present I will gladly share what I have on the family. Right now I'm just trying to fill in the blanksI have the family very well documented down through 1880 and mostly down through 1900.census. I married and moved away in 1942 so I don't recall anything about the younger generations. I did know or know of those who remained in the county when I was growing up. I'm so glad you responded to my post. Thanks much and I look forward to hearing more from you. Dear Lorena, Edward Rosewell was my grandfather. I have a list that I got from Familysearch.com that lists 8 out of 11. My mother Edward's daughter is still alive so I will check with her to see if I can get more details, but this is what I have: Edward Rosewell Borders born Oct. 1892 it lists Stanfield Cem. Gideon Mo as place of burial its actually Talyor Cemetary in Essex, Mo. He died in I believe 1936. Minnie E. Borders born March 1894 Clarence Adolph Borders born Nov. 1896 Maude T. Borders born Aug. 1898 ( my mother told me she was blind) Melvin Borders born around 1900 Flora Borders born around 1900 Inez Borders born around 1900 Oma Borders born around 1900 then it lists 3 more living females. I'm sure I have more specific info, but of course I can never find it when I need it. There is a cemetary in Zelma Missouri outside of Marble Hill in Bollinger county called Borders Cemetary it has most of the family buried there. I was there a few years ago, but it was in the middle of a big storm, so I couldn't learn alot. We hope to take another trip down there this fall to see what we can learn. Sharon
