    3. I am looking for family photographs of William Morris Welch, b. 24 Nov 1829 and died 3 July 1898 in Bollinger Co., his wife Keziah Jane Stephens, and of their parents and children. Wm. Morris Welch was a Justice of the Peace. Keziah was the daughter of Josiah and Abigail Yancey Medearis Stephens. Wm, and Keziah had children Josiah Bartlett (my gg grandfather), Edward, John, Miles, and Margaret. William Morris had two other wives. Robert L. Dixon, of Route 1, Glenn Allen, was cutting down a dead tree on his Castor River farm Wednesday when he struck his head. Dixon was active in the small Grassy community west of Marble Hill, Mo. His family found him unconscious in his truck with severe head trauma. Coroner Charles Hutchings is investigating the death, but no foul play is suspected. Dixon had apparently tried to drive for help, when he passed out. He never regained consciousness. Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo., is in charge of funeral arrangements. ROBERT DIXON (Obituary)--Banner Press, Marble Hill Glen Allen, Mo. -- Robert L. Dixon, 65, of Grassy, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1936, in Grassy, Mo., son of Robert and Ethel Bollinger Dixon. He and Jo Ann Davis were married May 26, 1984, in Coldwater; Mo. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State College in 1958. For 25 years, Dixon was owner of the Clydes Lumber Company in Fenton, Mo. He moved to Grassy in 1990. A farmer, he was a member of the Bollinger County Farm Bureau Board, serving on the State Farm Bureau Forestry Committee, and he was the treasurer of the Regional Farm Bureau farm, PAC. He also served on the University of Missouri Extension state board and the county council leadership conference. He was an active member of the Grassy neighborhood Watch, the Wayne County Cattleman's Association and the Three State Forestry advisors panel. He was a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge and worthy patron of Victory Chapter 431. Dixon was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church and served as a lay missioner for Wesley Chapel in Lowndes, Mo. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Rebecca Adams of Ontario, Canada, Amy Griesbauer and Emily Welker, both of Fenton, Mo.; two sisters, Kathleen Yandell of Steele, Mo., and Betty Jo McClelland of Richmond Heights, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Payden Welker. Minton, pastor of Tower Grove Baptist church, St. Louis, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in St. Louis.

E. Chostner Friends here have learned of the death of J. E. Chostner, 73 years old of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a native of Bollinger Co. Mr. Chostner was born February 28, 1898, near Scopus and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Chostner. On July 30, 1922, he married Miss Dorothy Spencer and she survives. A retired railroad worker, Mr. Chostner resided most of his life in Limon, Colorado. He was twice past master of the Eastern Star Chapter at Linon. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Murray Swearingen of Colorado Springs; four brothers, R. M. Chostner of St. Louis, D. E. Chostner of Waukegan, Illinois, Lester Chostner of Greenboro, North Illinois, Lester Chostner of Greenboro, North Carolina and Chester B. Chostner of Rockford, Illinois; three sisters: Mrs. Mildred Terrill of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Rosalee Hall and Mrs. Cecile Lamb, both of Cape Girardeau and two grandchildren. A brother, james Earl Chostner, preceded him in death June 1, 1973. Chapel services were held Monday at the law Funeral Home in Colorado Springs. Burial was in a cemetery there. Note: The above obit reads as it appeared in the newspaper. Reference to the 2 Lesters reads as it did in the paper. I am not a family member and can not add any knowledge to the above obit.

    3. I am trying to piece together the family of Randolph and Sarah Cheek of Cape Girardeau and Bollinger Co., MO. They were the parents of 11 children, possible connections to the WELKER, MOYERS, LEE, MAYFIELD and PROPTS families. I believe they migrated to Cape Gir. Co about 1814 Randolph died before 1880. Have lots of bits and pieces, if you have more to add I'd like to hear from you. Stephanie Miller in Oregon
