McCall, mother of George U. Freund, died at her home in Cole Camp on Tuesday morning, January 24, 1928. Mrs. McCall was a native of Benton County. She was the daughter of Daniel and Mahulda {Harryman} Neff [Nave] and was born October 17, 1838 and died in Cole Camp, aged 89 years, 3 monghs and 7 days. She was married to Jacob Freund in 1865 and to this union three children were born: Lucy, Fanny and George. Mr. Freund died in 1872. In 1875, she was married to J.W. McCall and to this union one child was born, Catherine M. She was converted in childhood and united with the Methodist Church of which she remained a member until the organization of the Congregational Church of Cole Camp, of which she was a charter member, the church being organized in her home. Surviving her is one brother, John F. Neff, of Nevada, one sister, Susan A. Van Sickle of Visalia,California, her four children, 30 grand children, 43 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. The funeral service were held on Wednesday afternoon attended by a large number of friends. {Note by n.a.: her daughter, Catherine McCall, married first Mr. Wm T. Hayner and then Arthur T. Nicolson}
