Mrs. Elizabeth Adaline Freund, widow of the late James N. Freund, many years a resident of Cole Camp, died at her home tuesday morning. She was 85 years, 10 months and 10 days old. The funeral service was conducted at the Congreational Chruch in Cole Camp at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the Rev. M. L. Jeffers officiating. solos were sung by her granson, Wright Freund of Emma, Mo. with Miss Sue Selover, pianist. Interment was in the Union cemetery near Cole Camp. Elizabeth Adaline Freund ne McCall, wa born at Caplinger Mills, Mo., May 24 1853, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolphus McCall. As a child of ten, she came to Cole Camp with her parents, living on a farm. When quite young she united with the Methodist Church at Cole Camp and on January 6, 1907 she united with the Congregational Church in cole camp and has lived a faithful christian life. On January 20, 1874, she united in marriage with Mr. James N. Freund, who preceded her in death, September 13, 1935. This union was blessed with two children, James D. Freund of Higginsville and Henry Freund, who preceded his mother in death, May 23 1904. They also took a nephew, Albert Williams, into their home and reared him as their own from infancy. Mr. Williams now resides at Windsor. Mr. & Mrs. Freund lived on a farm near Cole Camp for many years, later moving to Cole Camp. Mrs. Freund has spent the last seventy-five years of her life in and near Cole Camp. She is the last of a family of eight children, three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. Besides her son, James D. Freund of Higginsville, Mo., she is survived by four grandchildren, Wright Freund of Emma, Mo., Mrs. R. M. Stallard of Glenwood springs, Colo., Mrs. Jess Thompson of Nacona, Texas, and Henry Freund of Cole Camp and three great-grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
