    3. Please note: Many obits contain many errors. Benton County Guide, November 11, 1949 DIEDRICH HAASE DIES Passed Away November 4 Following Operation. Funeral Held Monday. Diedrich Haase, well known citizen of near Cole Camp, passed away at the Providence Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas at 9:05 o'clock Friday night, November 4, where he had undergone a major operation that morning. He had been in failing health for the past eighteen months and entered the hospital for treatment about three weeks previous to his death. He was sent home for a week and re-entered the hospital on October 28. He attained the age of 62 years, 9 months and 5 days. Mr. Haase had been employed with the Rock Island railroad company as a section laborer for the past thirty seven years and for the past seven years served as chairman for Local 1659 Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. Funeral services were held at the Eickhoff Funeral Chapel at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon and at 2:00 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. H.J. Gerike, officiating. Music was in charge of the church choir. Pallbearers were: Rudolph Haase, Arthur Ehlers, Roland Borchers, Cletus Pritzel, Elmer Haase and Herman Gardner. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Cole Camp. Diedrich Haase was born on a farm in the Mt. Hulda community, south of Cole Camp, a son of the late John Haase and his wife Mary, nee Gardner. He was baptized in infancy and after instruction in the christian faith was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran church, Mt. Hulda on April 8, 1900. He remained a member there, until 1918 when the family moved to Cole Camp. He united in marriage with Miss Anna Ehlers on January 29, 1911. This union was blessed with one son, Lawrence, who with his family reside in Eldon, Mo. He is survived by his wife, Anna of the home, one son Lawrence Haase of Eldon, Mo., two grandchildren, four brothers, Claus, Ernest and William Haase, all of Cole Camp and Herman Haase of Chilhowee, Mo. Five brothers preceded him in death. Schutte, Miss Marveline Haase, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Gardner, Lon Gardner, all of Sedalia; Mrs. Kate Bashore, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gardner, Mrs. George Gunter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ehlers, all of Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tonjes, Green Ridge, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kuhlmann and son, Golden City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crenshaw, Versailles; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Crenshaw, Eldon, Mo.; Clarence Schnabel, Ionia. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to relatives and friends for their assistance at the death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Diedrich Haase.     3. Please note: Many obits contain many errors. Cole Camp Courier, October 7, 1965 Ernest F. Haase Funeral Rites Ernest F. Haase, World War I veteran, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Kansas City at 12:15 Sunday afternoon, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 12 days. He had been a patient in the hospital since September 1, where he underwent major surgery September 21. Funeral services were held (today) Thursday at 2 o'clock, at the Fox Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Frank Nelson, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Lyle Webb, soloist, sang, "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Take My Hand Precious Lord' with Mrs. A.W. Hampy as organist. Pallbearers were: Rudy Haase, Albert Haase, Donald Gene Haase, James Garr, Jr., Frankie Kreisel and Ervin Bugh. Burial was in the Union cemetery, south of Cole Camp. Military services were held under the auspices of Abraham Lincoln Post 305, Cole Camp. Ernest Frederick Haase, was born April 21, 1896 in the Mt. Hulda community, south of Cole Camp. He was a son of the late John and Mary Gardner Haase. His early life was spent on the farm. On February 14, 1923, he was married to Miss Augusta Lutjen. The couple resided on a farm near Cole Camp. Seven children were born to this union. In April, 1960, the family moved to Cole Camp. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Augusta Haase of the home in Cole Camp; five sons, Ralph Haase, Elmo Haase and Calvin Haase, all of Cole Camp; Robert Haase of Omaha, Nebraska and Richard Haase of Millard, Nebraska, and one daughter, Marguerite, Mrs. Omar Uptegrove, Cole Camp, sixteen grandchildren and one brother, William Haase, Cole Camp. Cole Camp Courier, August 27, 1970 ERNEST WILLIAM WILSHUSEN Ernest William Wilshusen was born at Edmonson, Mo., April 25, 1902, the son of the late Jacob and Anna Harms Wilshusen. His life was spent in the Edmonson community. On March 12, 1937 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Schutte. Mr. and Mrs. Wilshusen resided on a farm near Edmonson. He passed away at Lakeview Heights, Lincoln, Route 2, at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, August 18 at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 23 days. Death was due to accidental drowning. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Wilshusen of the home, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Meyer, Lincoln, Route 2. Funeral services were held at 1:15 Thursday afternoon, August 20 at the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wm. Medler officiating. The church choir sang, "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross." Pallbearers were Roland Kerksiek, Alvin Pritzel, Lawrence Lutjen, Olaf Lutjen, Rufus Harms and Norman F. Meyer. Interment was in the Mt. Hulda Cemetery under the direction of the Fox Funeral Home. Cole Camp Courier, September 21, 1989 Gladys Marie Steffens Gladys Marie Steffens, 72, of Cole Camp, Missouri, died at her home on Sunday, September 17, 1989. She was born in Edmonson, Missouri on February 3, 1917, a daughter of James Robert and Josie O. Dukeshier Robinson. On December 1, 1940, she married Fred Steffens, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her mother, Josie Robinson, Stover; one daughter, Carol Snow, Wellsville, Missouri; two brothers, John Robinson, Grandview, Missouri and Raymond Robinson, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren. Mrs. Steffens was a member of Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held, Wednesday, September 20, 1989 at the church with the Rev. Mark Laugavitz officiating.
