Cole Camp Courier January 4, 1973, Pg. 3 ERNEST PETER KOHRS Ernest Peter Kohrs was born Aug 8, 1897, at Cole Camp, Mo., the son of Gerdt Henry Kohrs and his wife, Adelheid Brunjes Kohrs. He was baptized into the Christian faith on August 22, 1897, and confirmed his baptismal vow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp on April 9, 1911. On February 4, 1925, Mr. Kohrs was united in marriage with Miss Dora Koeller. This union was blessed with five sons, four of whom survive. Mr. Kohrs as a life long resident of the Cole Camp area, and was engaged in farming up to the time of his death. Ernest Peter Kohrs passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 1972, at the Ellis Fischel State Hospital in Columbia, Mo., having attained the age of 75 years, 4 months, 19 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; by one son, John Kohrs, who died in early youth and two brothers. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dora Kohrs, of the Pinetree Rest Home in Butler, Mo.; four sons Rudolph Kohrs of rural Cole Camp; Marvin Kohrs of Raymond, South Dakota; Louis Kohrs of El Paso, Texas; and William Kohrs of Warsaw, Mo., one sister, Mrs. Ida Harms of Concordia, Mo.; one sister-in-law Mrs. A. H. Kohrs of Orange, California; and 19 grandchildren. Christian funeral services were conducted for Mr. Ernest Kohrs by the Rev. Gary R. Clayton at Trinity Lutheran Church, where Mr. Kohrs was a life-long member, the service being held on Friday, Dec. 29, 1972, at 3:00 o'clock p.m. Organist for the service was Mrs. Lillie Borchers, who accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Fern Marie Faaborg, as she sang, "God Loved The World So That He Gave His Only Son," and "The Lord's My Shepherd". Pallbearers were: Leon Anderson; Virgil Eckhoff; Jerry Esser; John D. Friedly, Jr.; Hillard Stelling; and Harold Schroeder. Committal was at Trinity Cemetery of Cole Camp.
