HAASE Lawrence John Haase, 209 East Mason, LaMonte, Missouri, and a former resident of Cole Camp, passed away early Sunday morning, December 21, 1980, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Sedalia. He attained the age of 69 years and 14 days. He was born December 7, 1911, at Mt. Hulda, Mo., son of the late Dietrich and Anna Margaret Ehlers Haase. Lawrence was baptized December 17, 1911, and confirmed May 25, 1925. He graduated from Trinity Lutheran School and Cole Camp High School, attended college at Warrensburg, Mo., and taught school at Ross Creek and Kreisel Grade Schools. He was also employed as a roadmaster for the Rock Island Railroad for 44 years, retiring in March 1975. In 1933 he married Susie Fowler and she preceded him in death in April 1971. October 1971 he married Pearl McBee, who survives of the home. Other survivors include two children, Lawrence J. Haase, Jr., Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Mrs. Donald (Bette Ann) Fowler, Kearney, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kathie and Laurie Haase, Lincoln, Nebraska, Joeh Dietrich Haase, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Kristy, Mellissa and Chad Fowler, Kearney, Missouri; four step-children, Kenneth McBee, Gale McBee and Donald McBee of Lamar, Colorado, and Mrs. Leonard Bauer of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; 11 step-grandchildren and five great-step grandchildren. Lawrence was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, where services were held Monday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. A. J. Wollenburg officiating. Pallbearers were Leland Pritzel, Calvin Balke, Calvin Haase, Ralph Haase, Cletus Pritzel and Alvin Pritzel. Burial was in Allerton Cemetery, Allerton, Iowa, where graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 23. The body was at the Fox Funeral Home 9 in Cole Camp.
