    3. Please note: Many obits contain many errors. Cole Camp Courier, September 28, 1961 Funeral Rites For Claus H. Steffens Claus H. Steffens, passed away at his home 7 miles south of Cole Camp Thursday morning, September 21 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 2 days. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Eickhoff Funeral Home and 2:00 o'clock at the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church south of Cole Camp with the Rev. O. Heimsoth officiating. Pallbearers were: Fred Koeller, Albert Koeller, Florence Koeller, Lawrence Koeller, Clarence Koeller and Fred Schutte. Interment was made in the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Cemetery. Claus Henry Steffens was born on a farm in the Mt. Hulda community south of Cole Camp on October 19, 1877. He was a son of the late Claus and Rebecca Schutte Steffens. His entire life was spent on the farm where he was born. He was baptized November 17, 1877, and confirmed in the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church on March 15, 1914. On May 5, 1912 he was united in marriage with Maggie Koeller. This union was blessed with five children. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Steffens of the home: two sons, Fred Steffens and Elmer Steffens; three daughters, Mrs. Dora Brauer, Anna, Mrs. Oscar Kreisel and Miss Irene Steffens, all of Cole Camp; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
