She was born Dec. 7,1834 at Oese, near Bremervorde, Germany. She came from Germany with her family to Cole Camp, (Benton Co. ) Mo. in August 1854. They left Breman, Germany and landed in New Orleans.Her parents were Berend Cordes(born Nov. 19, 1794-d. 1866)and Margrete Maria Luhrs (b.July 18, 1804-d.Jan. 31, 1876)
