I've quite a few Union Army records for my David G Maize, here's what some say. Benton Barracks Missouri, known as Camp Benton. Located in N St Louis Co, 3-4 miles from St Louis City. Benton Barracks was not only a hospital, it was also a training & troop deployment encampment. My error about the Benton Mo, I'd just assumed that's where Camp Benton was located.
