I wish you luck in your search and if you find any direct decedents of Elbert I would like you to share this information with me, if you would. Elbert was a Captain in the Confederate forces that attacked and defeated the Union Home Guards in the Battle of Cole Camp, and he was the big hero of that battle. I am a local historian and am preparing a book on the battle and I would like to get stories, photos or what ever else may be available for use in my book - if such exists. Thanks in advance...
