He was born in Brooklyn, NY on 13 Mar 1884 as Edward Borin. After his father died his mother had to give the youngest two children Edward and Will up for adoption. They were sent west on the Orphan Trains in 1888. Will was only 2 years old when he was adopted by the Clifton family in Independence, MO. My Edward was adopted by Daniel and Marie Bowers of Lamar, MO. I found Daniel and Marie Bowers in the 1880 MO census. They then moved to Salt Lake City, UT, where I found them with Edward in the 1900 UT census.
