Kohrs, 57, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1987, at Eirie Lakes Hospital West in Watertown of cancer. Marvin F. Kohrs was born Aug. 22, 1929 in Cole Camp, Mo., son of Ernest and Dorothea Koeller Kohrs. He came to Raymond to work for Wegman for 12 years, then worked in Raymond a self-employed mechanic. He later worked as a farm mechanic for Vince Menneally of Raymond, and for the last nine years was mechanic for the clark County Highway Department. He married Florence Genzler in Redfield on Oct. 25, 1955. A member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Raymond, he was custodian for 28 years, taught Sunday School, and at the time of his death was the church treasurer. Survivors include his wife, Florence; four sons, Ernest and his wife Teresa of Clark, Time and his wife Betty of Raymond, and Kenneth and David at home; two daughters, Karla and Sandra, both of Clark; two brothers, William of Warsaw and Rudy of Lincoln; his mother, Dorothea Kohrs of Cole Camp; his mother-in-law, Berta Genzler of Heron; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest; two brothers, John and Louis; and a grandson. Rudy Kohrs and William Kohrs attended the funeral of their brother Marvin at Raymond, South Dakota. Schutte 1922-2000 SMITHTON Nola Marie Schutte, 78, who lived south of Smithton in Pettis County, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Pettis County, a daughter of R.D. and Mary Clay Ona Payne Montgomery. On Dec. 27, 1942, in Omaha, Neb., she was married to Ferdinand Schutte, who survives of the home. Mrs. Schutte was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed the quilting days the aide had. She was a 1939 graduate of Smithton Hight School and graduated from Central Business College. She then moved to Parsons, Kan., where she worked in the office of a munitions plant. After she was married, she moved to Fresno, Calif., where she lived for a year. She returned to Smithton when her husband was sent to Europe. She later lived in Sedalia and moved to the Montgomery farm south of Smithton in 1951, where she took part in the farming. It was a common sight to see her on a tractor with a big straw hat. She was room mother for her five children, and was involved in 4-H. She was on the Smithton Fair Board in its early years. She enjoyed the Smithton Garden Club and the Ringen Brushy Extension Club. She also enjoyed doing things for others. Also surviving are two sons, George A. Schutte of Lehigh, Kan., and Warren R. Schutte of Cole Camp; three daughters, Betty M. Brauer of Smithton, Nancy K. Webb of Independence, and Barbara L. Schnakenberg of Cole Camp; three sisters, Bertha Cook of Smithton, Treva Hoehns and Leona Faxon, both of Sedalia; a brother, Ralph Montgomery of Sedalia; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan Montgomery and Paul Montgomery. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Tatkenhorst and the Rev. Maynard Brandt officiating. Pallbearers will be Tony Beckett, James Brauer, Paul Culp Jr., Allen Konecne, Jacob Schnakenberg and Michael Schnakenberg. Honary pallbearers will be George Franklin, Ira McMackin, G.W. Meyer, Claude Page and Rudy Rehmer. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. He was born April 23, 1916, near Cole Camp, son of Benhardt and Louise Koeller Schutte. On May 4, 1945, near Cole Camp, he married Verna Metscher, who survives of the home. Mr. Schutte was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, and was a lumber yard clerk, retiring in 1978 from Mora Lumber Co. Other survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Lutjen, Cole Camp; a sister, Dora Haase, Cole Camp; two brothers, Amos Schutte, Boliver, Mo.; F.A. Schutte, Smithton; and four grandchildren. Cole Camp Courier, May 1991 Irene Marie Steffens Irene Marie Steffens of Cole Camp, died at 11:50 p.m. May 20 at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was 71. She was born Nov. 4, 1919 near Cole Camp, the daughter of Margaret Koeller and Claus Henry Steffens. She lived all of her life on a farm south of Cole Camp. Survivors include two sons, Jerry A. Wessel and Larry Steffens of Cole Camp; one brother, Elmer Steffens of Cole Camp; One sister Dora Payton of Cole Camp; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Irene belonged to the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church where she was baptized Nov. 23, 1919 by Rev. E. Robert. She was confirmed April 17, 1932 by Rev. W. Petzoldt at Mt. Hulda. She was a member of the Mt. Hulda Ladies Aid. She had been a housekeeper and was self-employed. A prayer service for Irene Marie Steffens was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Laugavitz officiating. The congregation sang "Lord Take My Hand and Lead Me" and "How Great Thou Art" as Sharon Steffens played the organ. Interment was in Mt. Hulda Cemetery. Sedalia Democrat COLE CAMP - Elmer Kreisel, 29, died Sunday of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Benton County Coroner John Reser, Warsaw, said Monday. Kreisel's body was discovered around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the bedroom of his home, 4 miles east of here, by his father. Oscar Kreisel had returned from a two-hour hunting trip. The victim reportedly shot himself with a deer rifle. The incident was investigated by Benton County Sheriff's Deputy Bob Crenshaw and Reser. Crenshaw said Kreisel, an Army veteran of the Vietnam war, had previously undergone psychiatric treatment at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Columbia. He was born December 22, 1945, at Cole Camp, son of Oscar and Anna Steffens Kreisel. Additional survivors include four brothers, Albert Kreisel, Otterville; Harry Kreisel, Stockton, Mo.; Fred Kreisel, Cole Camp; and Oscar Kreisel Jr., Terre Haute, Ind.; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Bell Lang, 13171/2 East Fourth, Sedalia; Mrs. Wilbur (Minnie) Canida, Lincoln; Mrs. Steve (Mary Alice) Kraft, Big Sandy, Tex.; and Mrs. Kenneth (Helma) Wheeler, 1325 East Fourth, Sedalia. Cole Camp Courier, August 13, 1964 Mrs. Oscar Kreisel Funeral Rites Mrs. Anna Katherine Kreisel, wife of Oscar Kreisel, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Canida of Lincoln Route 2 at 9:00 o'clock Friday morning, August 7 at the age of 47 years, 4 months and 10 days. She had been ill the past five weeks and hospitalized part of the time. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Fox Funeral Chapel in Cole Camp with the Rev. Arthur G. Kuecker of Stover, officiating. Pallbearers were Larry Steffens, Ray Dean Brauer, Elroy Brauer, Edward Brauer, Frank Kreisel and Joby Vaughn. Interment was in the Mt. Hulda cemetery south of Cole Camp. Mrs. Anna Katherine Kreisel, nee Steffens, was born March 27, 1917 at Cole Camp, Mo., a daughter of Mrs. Maggie A. Koeller Steffens and the late Henry C. Steffens. She was baptized in the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church on April 10, 1917. On April 19, 1931 she was confirmed in the Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church by the Rev. W. O. Petzoldt. On March 15, 1936 she was united in marriage to Mr. Oscar Kreisel. The couple resided in Sedalia until 1939 when they moved to their farm five miles east of Cole Camp. Seven children were born to this union, all of whom survive. Survivors include her husband, Oscar Kreisel of the home; four sons, Albert E. Kreisel, Sedalia; Harry L. Kreisel, Ft. Polk, Louisiana; Elmer L. Kreisel, Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; and Fred J. He was born May 13, 1915, near Cole Camp, son of Claus Henry and Margaret Alice (Koeller) Steffens. December 1, 1940, he married Gladys Robinson and to this union was blessed with one daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Mr. Steffens was employed with the State Highway Department until his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church near Cole Camp. Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Carol) Snow, Wellsville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brian and Stacy Snow; two sisters, Dora Payton and Irene Steffens, both of Cole Camp; a brother Elmer Steffens, Cole Camp. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. January 3, 1983, at Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church with the Rev. Eric Schillo officiating. Memorial Paper from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, MO Rosie Brauer It was on December 20, 1927, at Rocheport Missouri that the Lord blessed the home of Joe and Lottie Lee (Womack) Bond with the gift of a daughter and they named her Rosie. She entered God's kingdom through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism as an infant. She affirmed her faith in the triune God through the rite of Confirmation on February 13, 1972. She was united to Howard Shiverdicker. She was later married to Tandy Uptegrove who preceded her in death. On July 23, 1966, she was united to Elroy W. Brauer. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cole Camp. Along with being a homemaker and mother, she worked outside the home in various jobs. Most recently she operated a kennel, raising several different breeds of dogs. Rosie had been in failing health and entered Bothwell Regional health Center in Sedalia. It was there Thursday morning that the Lord called Rosie to her eternal rest, having granted an earthly life of seventy years, three months and twelve days. She is survived by: her husband, Elroy W. Brauer of the home; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Allen of Sedalia; two sons, John Franklin Uptegrove of Otterville, and Roger Dale Uptegrove of Cole Camp; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and her mother-in-law, Dora Payton of Cole Camp. Cole Camp Courier, after March 6, 1938 DEATH OF LEROY WILBERT BRAUER Leroy Wilbert Brauer, 19 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Brauer, who has been suffering with lymphatic leukemia, passed away at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Brauer near Cole Camp, Sunday morning at 11:15 o'clock. He leaves to mourn his early passing his grief stricken parents and one sister Delores of the home, his grandparents and a host of relatives and friends. Leroy Wilbert Brauer was born May 28, 1936, near Cole Camp, and departed this life March 6, 1937 at the tender age of 1 year and 7 months. He was baptized in infancy by the Rev. R. Kranz. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8 at the home and at Brauersille Lutheran Church. Rev. R. Kranz had charge of the service. Interment was made in the church cemetery. He was born Jan. 18, 1919, at Harrison, son of Lee and Susie Gregg Payton. On March 4, 1966, he married Dora Brauer, who survives. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Payton was a member of American Legion Post No. 305, V.F.W. Post No. 2623 and St. Paul's Lutheran Church here. Warsaw Paper, Jan. 27, 1956 COLE CAMP RESIDENT KILLED WHEN TRUCK SKIDS, STRIKES TREE Wilbert Brauer, of Cole Camp, met instant death at about 12:15 o'clock Thursday afternoon of last week, when a 1954 one-half ton Dodge pick-up in which he was riding with two other men crashed into a tree after the truck skidded on some ice packed snow. The accident occurred on Highway 72, fourteen miles south of Rolla, Mo. Brauer, and his two companions, B. H. Elliott, owner and driver of the truck, of Hartville, Mo., and Tom Bell of Nobby, Mo., are all employees of the H. J. Hessefort Construction Co. of Cole Camp and were working on a road project on Route K at Redford, Mo., in Reynolds County. Due to a work shutdown on the construction project on Thursday because of the inclement weather, the men decided to spend the weekend at their homes and were enroute to Cole Camp when the accident happened. According to information received the truck skidded off the highway, rolled down a 25-ft. embankment and crashed into a tree. Brauer was thrown through the windshield from the impact and Elliot was also thrown out of the truck, receiving a skull fracture. Bell, the other occupant, escaped uninjured. The body of Mr. Brauer was brought to Cole Camp in the Eickhoff ambulance and taken to the Eickhoff Funeral Home. Elliott was taken to the Phillips County Hospital at Rolla. Obituary Wilbert Henry Brauer was born at Walnut, Kansas on April 27, 1911, a son of William and Mathilda Munsterman Brauer. At the age of three years he came to Cole Camp with his parents. He was baptized on May 21, 1911 by the Rev. Mueller at Walnut, Kansas. On April 5, 1925 he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. R. Kranz at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Brauersville, northeast of Cole Camp. On June 9, 1935 he united in marriage with Miss Dora Steffens. The couple have resided at Cole Camp. Six children were born to this union. A son, Leroy, preceded the father in death at the age of two years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora Brauer, two sons, Elroy and Ray Dean and three daughters, Sharon and Margaret, all of the home and Delores, Mrs. Vernon Brown of Cole Camp; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Brauer, five brothers, Homer, Raymond, Norman and Leonard, all of Cole Camp, and Elmer Brauer of Brazilton, Kansas and one sister, Lydia, Mrs. Harvey Luetjen, Cole Camp. One sister preceded him in death. He attained the age of 44 years, 8 months and 22 days. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m. Sunday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home, and at St. Paul's Am. Lutheran Church, Cole Camp at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Elmer H. Kuhlmann conducted the services. The church choir with Mrs. Robert Gerken as organist, sang, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "Abide With Me" and "In The Hour of Trial." Koeller Matilda Ella Josie Koeller, 83, of Cole Camp, died Thursday, November 2, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp. She was born July 7, 1917, at Mt. Hulda, a daughter of John and Anna Lackman Kerksiek. On October 6, 1940, in Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, she was united in marriage to Clarence Koeller, who survives of the home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Iverne, Mrs. Charles Johnson of Rantoul, Illinois and Diana, Mrs. David Moelman of Cole Camp; two sons, Alvin Koeller and his wife Maurine of Florence and Kenneth Koeller and his wife Barbara of Sedalia; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ida Pritzel, Lillie Brunjes and Lena Kerksiek and four brothers, Ernest Kerksiek, Olaf Kerksiek and two in infancy. Funeral services were Sunday, November 5, 2000, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp with the Reverend Randal Ehrichs and Vicar Todd Bunge officiating. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roland Kerksiek, Leroy Pritzel, Charlie Kast, Elmer Dieckman, Raymond Schnakenberg, Raymond Metscher and Harlan Bahrenberg. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran New Church Building Fund, or the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, in the care of the funeral home. rwbrauer@iland.net

Cole Camp Courier December 1, 1983; Pg. 3 SELMA KOELLER Selma Emma Koeller, 66 years and 15 days, Cole Camp, Mo., died Tuesday evening, November 22, 1983, at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia. She was born November 7, 1917, in Stover, daughter of John and Gesena Hagenah Viebrock. On January 17, 1976, she married Florence Koeller, who survives of the home. Mrs. Koeller was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cole Camp. Preceding her in death were her father and two brothers. Other survivors include her mother, Gesena Viebrock, Cole Camp; one son, Robert Wienberg, Cole Camp; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Ruth Ann) Kreisel, Mora; one step-daughter, Betty Huffman, Springfield; one sister, Waleta Brandes, Cole Camp; four brothers, Emil Viebrock, Reno Viebrock, Cletus Viebrock and Alwin Viebrock, all of Cole Camp; and four grandchildren, Sherry and Bruce Wienberg and Anthony and Amy Kreisel. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Bill Feese officiating. Beth Rehmer, organist, accompanied Keeth Koeller as he sang "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "The Lord's Prayer." Pallbearers were Dale Viebrock, Kenneth Viebrock, Dwayne Wienberg, Dennis Brandes, Reno Viebrock, Jr. and Ronald Bruns. Burial was in the church cemetery. FLORENCE KOELLER Mrs. Ola Lorene Koeller of Cole Camp died at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia, at an age of 51 years, 11 months and 9 days. She had been a patient in the hospital since March 9. She was born in the Zora community, southeast of Cole Camp, April 5, 1922, daughter of William Robinson and t(big black spot in micro-film) Bessie Bush. On Oct. 29, 1938, she was married to Florence Koeller, who survives of the home. This union was blessed with one daughter. The family lived on a farm south of Cole Camp until 1939 when they moved to Cole Camp. For a number of years she was employed as cook in a local cafe. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church here. Survivors include include one daughter, Betty Lou Koeller, Cole Camp; her step-mother, Mrs. Mary Bush, Cole Camp; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bush, Cole Camp; and one sister, Mrs. Goldie Brown, Booneville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Bond officiating. Mrs. Barbara Veale sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" with Mrs. Betty Johnson as organist. Burial was in the Union Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home. Koeller, 71, Cole Camp, died Monday, Aug. 12 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born near Cole Camp on Oct. 29, 1913, son of Charley and Louise Young Koeller. On Nov. 29, 1938, he was married to Lorene Robinson who died in 1974. On Jan. 17, 1976 he was married to Selma Wienberg who passed away in 1983. Mr. Koeller was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of First Baptist Church, Cole Camp. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1494 in Sedalia. Survivors include a daughter Betty Huffman, Springfield; a step-son, Robert Wienberg, Cole Camp; a step-daughter, Rutha Ann Kreisel, Mora; 3 sisters, Dora Myers, Cole Camp; Nora Scheerer, Stover; Clara Skinner, Sedalia; 2 brothers, Fred and Clarence Koeller, Cole Camp; and 4 step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Cole Camp, with the Rev. Dwayne Cartwright, officiating. A visitation service was held at the Fox Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 8 p.m. a prayer service followed. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Cole Camp. Mr. Myers was a retired custodian at Iowa State University in Ames, He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cole Camp. On June 5, 1965, in Sedalia, she married Donald Myers, who died April 27, 1981. Mrs. Myers was a cook at Mark Twain School several years and cooked for community projects in Cole Camp. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cole Camp. Survivors include two sons, John Buckley, Sedalia; Robert Buckley, Burleson, Texas; a daughter, Mary Hopper, Sedalia; two sisters, Nora Scheerer, Stover; Clara Skinner, Sedalia; a brother, Clarence Koeller, Cole Camp; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
