He was born Jan. 29, 1966, in Windsor, a son of Ray Dean and Wilma Canida Brauer. Mr. Brauer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. He was a cabinet maker for Pat's Cabinets of Sedalia. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and hunting. Surviving are a daughter, Joanie Brauer of the home; a son, William Michaels of Sedalia; his parents of Cole Camp; a sister, Denise Hoehns of Cole Camp; his paternal grandmother, Dora Payton of Cole Camp; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Dean Brauer. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randall Ehrichs and the Rev. Gary Clayton officiating. Koeller Sr., 59, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. He was born Oct. 26, 1940, in Sedalia, a son of Lawrence E. and Mildred Thompson Koeller. On May 18, 1969, in Sedalia, he was married to Maybelle Hunter, who survives of the home. Mr. Koeller was a 1958 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a lifelong resident, who worked at Pirtle-Evans Market and Roseland Meats. He worked for the Missouri Pacific-Union Railroad from 1977 to 1993. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt deer and fish for crappie and catfish. He enjoyed his hobbies of gas engine machines and wood carving. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Also surviving are a son Larry Koeller Jr. of Tulsa, Okla,; two daughters, Terri A. Cunningham of Sedalia and Leslie L. Nancy was born December 3, 1950, in Sedalia, a daughter of Ferdinand A. and Nola (Montgomery) Schutte. On July 20, 1979, she married Bill Webb, who survives of Independence. She was a 1968 graduate of Smithton High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Central Missouri State University in 1977. She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Independence and was a coach for the Destination Imagination Problem Solving Team at Messiah Lutheran School. Nancy enjoyed being a "soccer mom" to her girls and was a frequent volunteer in the soccer concession stand. She also enjoyed her flea market booth in Oak Grove, Missouri. She worked for S.B.S.I. Insurance Company and was a substitute teacher. Survivors include her husband, Bill Webb, Independence; four daughters, Nancy Lyn Thompson and Jill Dotson, both of Independence, Anna Webb and Audrey Webb, both of the home; five grandchildren; her father, F.A. Sedalia Democrat, Nov. 27, 2001 1936 - 2001 Ionia Ray Allen Shireman, 64, of Ionia, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born July 28, 1936 in Stover, a son of Clarence and Pearl McKenzie Shireman. On Sept. 15, 1984, in Lincoln, he married Delores Brauer, who survives of the home. Mr. Shireman served in the Army for two years before his discharge on Aug. 29, 1961. After his discharge, he returned to Missouri, making his home in Ionia. For the next 40 years, he was a master brick mason, working on several commercial construction projects including the Mathewson Center, the Parkhurst mansion and several churches and schools. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Missouri Masons Union Local No. 15 for 40 years. Survivors also include a daughter, Sandra Young of Raytown; a son, John Shireman of Arma, Kan.; six stepsons; three stepdaughters; five grandchildren; and 20 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Stover Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5925 of Lincoln. Memorial Paper from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, MO Cleo Ernest Pitts, Jr. It was on December 8, 1927, at Kansas City, Kansas, that the Lord blessed the home of Cleo E. and Martha (Kalebaugh) Pitts, Sr., with the gift of a son and they named him Cleo Ernest, Jr. He became a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on December 17, 1961, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cole Camp. He publicly confessed his faith in the triune God through the Rite of Confirmation on December 17, 1961, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. On March 9, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, he was united in marriage to Clara Sanders, who preceded him in death on May 4, 1959. On January 16, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Delores Brauer, who survives of Cole Camp. He was a truck driver for over 42 years for several companies, including Consolidated Freightways where he received the Million Mile Club award three times and was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 142. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp. His health began to fail, and on February 6, 2000 he entered Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. It was there early Thursday morning that the Lord called him to his eternal rest, having been granted an earthly life of seventy-two years, two months and two days. He is survived by: four daughters, Diane Sanders of Augusta, Georgia; Brenda, Mrs. Charles Sims, of Pageland S. Carolina; Donna, Mrs. Mike Hartman of LaMonte, MO; and Ann, Mrs. Jay Fowler of Florence, MO; four sons, Tim Pitts; Cleo Pitts; Steve & his wife Theresa Pitts; and Mark & his wife Kim Pitts, all of Cole Camp; seventeen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Haase, 54, of Sedalia, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 10, 1988, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Kansas City. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Cole Camp, son of Rudolph and Annie Haase. On Jan. 21, 1969, in Miami, Okla., he married Goldie Marie Harvey, who survives of the home. Mr. Haase was a 1953 graduate of Cole Camp High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was employed by Sedalia Fruit Co. for 18 years. Other survivors include his stepmother, Tillie Haase, Sedalia; six sons, Gary Ballard, Russell Harvey, Ronald Harvey, Tim Haase and Jim Haase, all of Sedalia; Robert F. Haase, Kansas City; three daughters, Cheryl Furnell, Orlando, Fla.; Charlene Kugler, Aurora, Colo.; Robin Martin, Sedalia; and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Heckart-Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. R.H. Rhoades officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd was born in Cole Camp, Dec. 8, 1929, a daughter of Rudolph and Anna Schutte Haase. She was married to Earl D. Boyd on July 9, 1953. Mrs. Boyd had been a resident of Sedalia since 1948 and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her widower, Earl, two daughters, Connie Sue and Sharon Kaye Boyd, one son, David Earl Boyd, all of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Haase, Cole Camp; one brother, Robert Haase, Sedalia. Funeral services was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Melvin R. Geffert, officiating. Mrs. Kenneth Satterwhite was the soloist and Miss Mildred Brackman, organist. She was born at Sedalia on April 6, 1917, a daughter of John E. & Sophia Kurtz. As a girl she attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and the Sedalia Public Schools. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church, involved in LWML, the Braille Ministry, and the church office volunteers. Mrs Gardner's husband's military career took the couple to Kansas City, where she was employed by Employers's Mutual of Wausau until they moved to Bloomfield, New Jersey, in 1949. Various other moves followed...among them to Suffolk, Virginia, in 1961 and, following retirement, to Arlington, Texas, in October 1987, allowing them to be closer to their daughter and her family. She volunteered at local hospitals, the Red Cross, and with various other charitable organizations. She also assisted with the Feed Arlington and Arlington Night Shelter. Mrs. Gardner is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert P. Gardner; a daughter, Janice Runzheimer of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Leonard Kurtz of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren. Friends can call after 8 a.m. Monday at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held in Sedalia, Missouri, at 2 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Kohrs, 47, Warsaw, died Friday night, March 11, 1988, at Golden Valley Hospital, Clinton. He was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Sedalia, son of Ernest P. and Dorothy Keller Kohrs. On June 23, 1962, he married Rozella Stewart, who survives. Mr. Kohrs attended school in Cole Camp. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict and was a construction operator and had a septic tank service. He was a charter member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Warsaw. Survivors include three daughters, Trina Cheatham, Derry, N.H.; Tonya Kohrs, Sedalia; Tammy Kohrs, a student at Central Mo. State University, Warrensburg; his mother, Cole Camp; and a brother, Rudy Kohrs, Lincoln. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church with the Rev. Rich Wagner officiating. His mother (Dora) Dorothy Kohrs of Cole Camp and three brothers, Marvin Kohrs, Raymond, S.D., Rudy (Rudolph) Kohrs, Lincoln, and William (Bill) Kohrs, Warsaw. He was born January 2, 1936 the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Koeller) Kohrs at Cole Camp.
