Mike, The back leaf of the Bates County Sesquicentennial Book has a map showing all the townships. It looks like the northern tier of sections are rectilinear as opposed to square and appear to contain at least twice as much land as the others. The other sections look to be the usual 640 acres to me. That applies to all of the townships you mentioned. I hope this answers your question.
