Lucy, Since he wouldn't be listed on the l880 census, I would start with the l900 census, ordering a Soundex film for Mo. from your local FHC. Then since he was married by l908, if he was still in Mo., I would order the Soundex for l900. It is quite possible that he was still living a home with parents in l900. You do know about soundex census, I hope. These films are based on the last name and if you don't know his parents first name, you may have to go through the film until you find him listed. Then I would order the original film. Anyone at a Family History Library can help you. If you live near an Archieve Library that would be much faster and they are usually great on beginners or new-be's.
