In 1854, Crittendom Sharp acquires land in Bates County, Missouri. This land is located very near who I believe to be his sister, Jane Sharp Rains and her husband, George. Since Jane Sharp Rains was born in TN (probably Campbell County), I am hoping someone will recognize his name. If in fact Jane and Crittendom are brother and sister, I am anxious to find out who their parents might be. I am thinking that Jane and her husband came to Missouri (about 1833) and he followed later. Does this name ring a bell with any of the Sharp researchers in Campbell County, TN or are there Crittendom Sharp descendents still in Bates County, MO, who might have a clue about the parents of Jane Sharp Rains or Crittendom Rains? Obviously, the brother/sister relationship is just a guess. Jane and George Rains had a son who they named Crittendom, so perhaps the child was named for her brother. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
