    3. Good Morning: The 1917 Barry County newspaper transcription project is finished. In the last few papers that I typed there are some nice obits and also there are biographies of the grand jury members. This jury panel was called to serve in November of that year. Not everyone is ever afforded the privilege of getting to be a member of a grand jury. About 30 years or so ago I was given that opportunity. I was the clerk and it was a murder trial. When a panel is called they also examine the county departments as well as hear evidence. I didn't find a 1917 paper that stated their findings, but part of November and all of Decemeber of that year wasn't on the roll that I transcribed and so it could have been published in one of those papers. The years of 1918 -1921 are left to type. Four years doesn't seem like a lot considering I have already typed 27 years. The1918 papers that I have on hands are for the Cassville Republican. And - it looks like they are not going to be any easier to read that the 1917 ones were. I will begin on those in a few days and work on them in between other projects until they are finished. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/news/7/index-7.htm Later today or sometime tomorrow, I will begin working on Old Carney Cemetery and also posting some family photos as well as taking care of some other details that need my attention. Work on the obit section continues. Donna Cooper
