    3. I agree with Cheryl. If you set the resolution too low on your camera, your photos will be grainy and in the case of names on tombstones, will be unreadable. But you can set the resolution on your camera high, download the photos to your computer, and then reduce the size of the photo with your photo editor. Resize not crop! I do however, know a bit more about Paint Shop Pro and can clean them up and resize them that way. And truthfully, the bigger the pictures are that I take, the easier they are to manipulate and resize. And then too, if you take bigger pictures and then have them printed out, they are not so grainy and as a photography nut....I usually do this. What you can do if you like is send them to me and I will clean them up and resize and send to Donna. I however will not be available to do this from Sept 26 to Oct 22...I will be in Hawaii taking pics. Cheryl Please tell us about your Barry county ancestors. 3. Frances, Why not crop (since I'm new to digital cameras?) I had a tombstone of a young girl (about 14) and on her headstone, there was a picture of her. So I got a close up of that and uploaded it into the computer. Then I cropped it so it was just her, without the lettering on the sides. This was not a good thing to do? How come? (to help me understand the process). Thanks, Cheri Mello Torrance, CA On 9/12/07, Frances Black <frances_b_65705@yahoo.com> wrote: > > I agree with Cheryl. 3. Whether one uses a digital camera, or scans pictures taken with a 35 mm, most, if not all, photo editing programs have a way of re-sizing the pics without losing the higher resolution. -------Original Message------- From: Frances Black Date: 9/12/2007 6:26:49 AM To: mobarry@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MOBARRY] Newspapers I agree with Cheryl.
