    3. Wilma: I wonder if that isn't t the same Thomas Marbut whose story was published in the Barry County newspapers? It seems like that Thomas Lafayette Marbut lived Mineral, Kansas and was charged with murdering his 11 year old step-son. He was tried in Columbus, KS sometime around 1905 or so. I remember typing something about a Tom or Thomas Marbut in Kansas who given ten years and then was pardoned. I was thinking somewhere in the items it told who his wife was and who the child was. I think Tom was a son of John Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth (White) Marbut, and of the Barry County Marbut families. If you haven't done so already, you might drop Darla Marbut a note. She possibly could know more about him. Are you out there, Darla?
