Good Evening: In the Cassville Democrat of June 9, 1917 there is a list of soldiers who were buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. Also there is an obit for that tells about P. O. Snyder, who was buried Goodnight Cemetery, being an editor for a paper in Cassville in the early 1870's. It was called the Barry County Advocate and supported the "Tad Pole Party". This is very interesting news and I wish we had some of those papers, but I suppose they are long gone and who knows - maybe no issues were ever kept of it. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/news/7/index-7.htm Thanks to Joy Guentert who sent us some notes for Antioch Cemetery and updated her e-mail address on those pages. Her notes were on Robison, May and Willaims. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/antioch/antioch1.htm Our thanks to Phyllis Long who sent some notes and information for a lady by the name of Sult who was buried in Cargile Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/cargile/cargile.htm Our thanks to Diana Cope who sent us a photo for Clio, surname of Isley. We have some good stuff coming that Diana worked on last week. She just finished Quaker, McKinney and Old Carney and I will begin on those as soon as I get them. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/clio/clio.htm Our thanks also to Stefanie Forseter who is helping behind the scenes. She is sorting our obits and death certificates. As a result we may have several pages that aren't linked so, please, be patient with us. This process is a lot of work and takes a lot of time but will help a lot because it will allow us more room for growth in the obit section. A big thanks tonight to Joy Guentert, Phyllis Long, Diana Cope and Stefanie Forester for their help with today's new items. Donna cooper
I forgot to say that in the papers it is mentioned also that people were wanting to erect a monument for Mr. Jenkins in Potter Cemetery since he was one of the early settlers of that area. The paper listed those who were among the early settlers. We don't have any Jenkins names listed in Potter so I wonder if we are missing out on some important data or the paper reported the news incorrectly. That news item is listed in June 2, 1917, in the Cassville Democrat. Do any of you have any information about this monument or know more about the Jenkins family?
