    3. Hi Tom, Which Higgs line are you researching? I might be able to help you? I am a Higgs and several years back I wrote a History of the Higgs family. As most of us do, I have tried to add to it and refine... All the Higgs in Barry County are descendants of one John Higgs who came to Butterfield area about 1852 from North Carolina. John had 14 children 11 of which came with him to Barry County. There is a separate( not related ) Higgs family that lives over by Anderson in McDonald County and some of their descendants live in Joplin. I also know a little about the Burtons, Barnett's, Montgomery's Linebargers, Antle.and Birks. as I currently live very near where the early families were located.
