Wow! What a treasure trove of photos from Alice and Donna. It was great fun looking at them all. And I'm sad and lamenting that the thriving little town of Pioneer, which had wonderful houses, stores and mill buildings, is now long gone from the scene. But at least these pictures survived so that we, and future generations, may know of the people who lived and worked and laughed and went to school and had picnics on the bank of Shoal Creek at that place. Thanks to everyone for enriching our MoBarry site! Linda In a message dated 12/7/2007 4:45:58 P.M. I first started trying to keep a list but then gave up on that idea. These new additions are in located here in these photo books - Focus on Pioneer, http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/pioneer/index.htm Mystery Photo Book. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/mysteryphotobook.htm Photo Book - 3 - 1 and 2, http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/phs3.1.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/phs3.2.htm Photo Book 2 - 1 and 2 http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/phs2.1.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/phs2.2.htm In the Pioneer photos there are some ladies with flags. I don't know what time period it is or what they are celebrating but it sure is a nice clear photo. I hope that some of you find "Grandma" pictured in this one. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/pioneer/pioneer.ladies.htm There was one of a store in Pioneer named Berrian and Matlock. There is a neat old truck sitting out front. I hope that some of you can help date the photo for me from that. There was one of the mills there in Pioneer. And some of Shoal Creek, too. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/pioneer/pioneer.mills.htm There are several of families - this one is of a family of 5 by a water trough - have no idea why or what that means. If you can help with it, please let me know. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/family.water.htm I even found a baby in a doctor's bag in among them. This one is too cute not mention. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/baby.bag.htm There are several more to post that were on the disc that Alice Allen sent me - so I will work on them again tomorrow. I even found some in my box of old photos. Some that had been given to me years ago, that I'd even forgotten that I had. I don't know what the lady's name was who sent the Braziel and Turner photos, because that was probably over 30 years ago - anyway I think she is probably died now because she was old then. I thought I'd post them because I figured that some of you might enjoy having them. Again, a big fat thanks to Alice Allen for her work on these photos and for sharing with us. We really appreciate these wonderful old photos, Alice, and I am sure that there are some people will find their ancestors pictured in some of these. Also - thanks to Linda Garrett for helping type some of the things that came in. Donna Cooper Please tell us about your Barry county ancestors.
