It is a photo of the Joseph K. Ellis Northcutt family The photo date is in question, since the family has recorded that Joseph died in Jan 18, 1893. Notice in the photo that William Sherman Carlin is holding his son, Earl Frank Carlin, born Dec. 14, 1893, who appears to be about 12 to 18 months old or so, which might suggest that the photo date is about 1895. Perhaps his date has been recorded wrong and he was born in 1890 - instead of 1893? Do any of you know? I didn't look in the newspapers to see if there was a death notice listed for Joseph or a birth notice for Earl listed. But if any of you have these dates, would you please share those with us? All of you know that sometimes dates are engraved wrong on stones - and that 3's are sometimes read for 5's or 8's. So I was wondering if any of you might know what date Joseph Northcutt died and where he is buried. Jemima was buried in Pierce City, I think, or anyway that is what the newspapers have for her place of burial. This is a wonderful old photo and I am very thrilled that it has some of my Haddock relatives included in it, too - William Sherman Carlin and family. Sherman was a merchant in Purdy for several years. After his wife Mintie Ellis Northcutt died he married another relative of mine - but not a relative of his - Rilda Emeline Lane, daughter of Wilson and Eliza (Long) Lane. She was first married to William David Cowherd. Our thanks to Damien for sharing this wonderful old photo and my personal thanks, too, for sharing it with me. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm Donna Cooper Please tell us about your Barry county ancestors.
