I truly appreciate the responses to my last question. The responses did provide an eye opener, even if I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Bill sent me 1900 Census information for the George Edward Betterton family living in Monett. When I first saw that I thought, "Yeah. I already had that in my database. I wonder why he sent it." Then I looked at it again and that is when it donned on me that George Edward Betterton could not have died in 1898 if he was listed in the 1900 Census. Isn't it amazing how we sometimes don't see those pieces of information that are right in front of us? Thanks so much Bill. Here is the only lead I have on Nancy (Zinn) Betterton's death. From the Jasper County, Missouri USGenWeb site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~haddockfamily/barryfamilies7.htm extracted from Monett Times, Barry County, MO, Weekly Paper, Mar 14, 1901 "Mrs. Ed Betterton died at her home on Marshall Hill yesterday." Where is Marshall Hill? Is there a cemetery close to this area? Where can I read information about this community? Is there a possibility that Nancy (Zinn) Betterton could have been cremated? Was there a funeral home in Marshall Hill, or close by, that would still have records? Thanks again and again. ~Susan
Marshall Hill is a part of Monett, MO, on the south side.
