List Readers: Work continues on Monett - IOOF - and probably will for many days and weeks to come. I still don't have 1/4 of it on the net yet. I do have around 900 or so on the web so far. We had 450 or so from other projects so we have about 1300 posted. There are about 5400 or so graves there so you can see I still have a lot of work to do. Please don't write and ask for me to look up names for you. All the photos are filed by camera number - not names. Believe it or not - they will all get posted, but it takes a lot of time to do a project this large. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/monett/monett.htm Linda Stephens McCormick sent us some very nice photos and I have most of them on the web for your viewing pleasure. We really appreciate getting nice photos like these. One of the photos she sent was of a Purdy, MO, street in the year of 1910. There is a message on the back of the post card that reads something about the sidewalks and that there are 600 people living there. That seems like a lot for 1910, I think. There is a man walking down the street. I hope some of you will know who he is or whose house he is walking in front of. This one is under the section called, "Focus on Purdy". http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/purdy/index.htm Also, Linda, sent us a post card that was from Sheriff James Albert Stephens her ancestor. While he was sheriff and in 1900 he had a jail break. The card was sent to the Eureka Springs Marshall. We can't make out all the writing and so if some of you have an idea about what it reads, please let us know. This one is in the photo book 2 - part 2 and also on the data index page under Miscellaneous. We have the news story about this on the Barry County site. It is so interesting to see this card after having read the paper item. Thanks so much, Linda, for sharing this wonderful piece of history with us. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/stephens.sheriff.htm And, Linda, also sent us a wonderful old photo of Calvin and Clara (Brattin) Henderson and family. The names connected with it are Henderson, Brattin, Casper, Stephens and Hawk. This is really a very nice family group and family photo. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/henderson.cal.fam.htm And, then there was this one of James Tillman Brattin, with his son Morris and his first granddaughter Ruth. What precious baby that Ruth was! You can tell that grandpa looked like a pretty proud pop from this photo. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/brattin.j.t.fam.2.htm Thanks so much, Linda, for all you do for us here at Barry.
