Good Afternoon: It has been busy here at the computer for the past week. The first thing I want to mention is that I have been pretty busy correcting a mistake on the web site. I made a terrible mistake in giving credit to the MO Historical Society for the microfilm on a few of the newspaper pages - the credit line should read State Historical Society of MO. So if you have a credit line that reads incorrectly in your family files, please correct it. And - PLEASE accept my apologies for causing you extra work. It might not matter but those are two different places. The State Historical Society is in Columbia, MO and that is where you order the newspaper microfilm from in case you want to order some. I guess I am pretty darn dumb because I sure didn't know that the way I had it written was two different places. Anyway the State Historical Society was very nice about the mistake. On the helpers page I added a note and photo from Darla Marbut. Through the years, she has done a lot for the web site - and so I am not sure she has all of her contributions listed. But anyway, you will enjoy reading her note and seeing her photo, I think. If any of you who have helped - please accept my apologies and drop me a note. Some of those senior moments are bad, but I don't want to leave anyone who has helped out and for sure want every one to get due credit for their work. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/helpers.htm On the Corinth Cemetery page Karen Murrell sent me a note that let me know that we had Albert Henbest listed Alfred. So I corrected that. And Darla Marbut added a note on the Thomas name. Thanks to both of you for your help on those items. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/corinth/corinth.htm On New Salem Cemetery pages, I added a Brewer name. Darla Marbut found another Brewer infant listed in the newspapers that we added to the cemetery page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/newsalem/newsalem.htm And Darla Marbut noticed that there is a Cornell stone in Munsey Cemetery but it is for Walter Pendergraft's wife. Her maiden name was Cornell and that is what the stone reads. Also Darla noted that she had listed 1881 as the birth date but that the death certificate and stone both read 1884. I added the newspaper item and corrected the date. It is listed on the A to G page. Thanks, so much, Darla, we are very glad to get corrections like this one. I think that it makes our web site so much better to have accurate records! http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/munsey/munsey.htm At Mano Cemetery, Darla Marbut added a note for William Henry Holman. Also dates were added to his listing. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/mano/mano.htm A few new stone photos were added to Monett IOOF. This is a beautiful piece of work - another from Jay Trace that we will enjoy. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/monett/monett.htm Thanks to all who helped with today's new items. Concerning the interviewing of seniors - I did some of that in the 1970's for the Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society and it was a great project. Some of those interviews that we conducted are pure gold now. Also I recently read some that were done in Kentucky in a book about some of the people of Knox County that was written many, many years ago - again pure gold. I think that it would be great to take some of our school photos around to some of the nursing homes to some of the older folks and see if we can't find out who some of the the unidentified students are.
