Nancy King age 62, b ky was enumerated with John Shaw family on 1870 census. Does anyone know anything about this lady? It does not state , however I believe she to be either mother or sister of John Shaw. He also being from Kentucky.. recently there was an article on here about a King family whose wife was Nancy. could this have been just a neighbor visiting at census time? Any information at all would be appreciated. Also I have a genealogy question.. In 1920 I have an ancestor who obtained a passport to go to England-Wales where his parents were from. I know you used to be able to take children with you without a passport, but could the whole family travel on husband's passport alone? They were not listed on the 1920 census, and I cannot find an application for wife..and that is when he planned to travel. What do you all think?
