    3. List Readers: I have the obit submission file on the web and ready for you to use. I think that this will be easier for both you to use than the old way we were doing them. I hope that you like it and that you will take advantage of using it and the new death certificate submission file, too. Obits - Please abstract your obits if they are recent or if they have living individuals included. Recent obits will be copyrighted, so it is, by all means, a good idea to abstract them so that we stay in good graces with the newspapers and also so that we do not violate the copyright laws. I know that some of you think that you own the obit because someone in your family is mentioned, but that is not the way it works. Please understand unless you paid for the obit - you don't own the copyright on it. Please do not post them on the list mailing or mail them in an open message to my e-mail box. If for some reason that you have to mail the abstract copy to me, place the typed copy in Note Pad or Word. No hard copies are going to be accepted. Submit obits here at this link. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits/subobit.htm In case you want to read the guidelines, they are posted in several places - here below is one place. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits.htm Obits that violate someone's rights or the copyright laws will be deleted. Death Certificates - At the present time I am not accepting hard copies of death certificates, because I have a big backlog of them on hands. I hope someday that I can get those on the web and we can accept some more of those. But at the present time the abstract copies will be easier to post. These new abstracts will be copied and pasted to the obit folders - and so you will have both the obit and abstract of the death certificate all on one page. You should benefit from these new features because you will be able to print those out and use them in your notebooks. I think that this new features will help you in your research work. Here is the new death certificate submission file link below. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/subdeathcer.htm Have a good day! Donna Cooper
