From what I have been told by a member of the family whose ancestors donated the land for the Black School Darla is correct. The original school, which was a log structure, sat closer to the creek out Y Highway. After it burned down the new school was built at a different location across Y. The school has been moved now to the museum. I have a photo of the school as it sat before we moved the roof and moved the school. If you would like a copy of that photo please let me know. Hi All: During the late 40's and early 50's there was a man named Fred Black. He was president of the Barry County Bank. I banked at his bank for several years. I knew there were several families in Barry County with the last name of Black. I hope this sheds a little light on the subject. There was a family by the name of Black who lived very near Clark School, in fact he was on the Clark School Board, and near New Hope Church. His daughter in law was in the quilting group at Cassville and she is a prize winning quilter!
