    3. Jay, I just spent a while looking at 1912--didn't volunteer because I wasn't sure how long it would take. It goes pretty fast so if no one else is asking, I will take 1912. I assume "Potters Field Cassville, " would be what we should look for? If so, John Andrew Bowman June 19, 1892 - February 6, 1912, was buried there. I'm still looking. Work is slowly but surely being completed, and research continues to be done on this project. With Donna down for a while, and MOBARRY submissions at a bit of a standstill until her return, we had a thought. We are trying to determine how many people might be buried at the Poor Farm burial sites, and who they happen to be. None of the graveyards have any markers, and the ultimate goal is to clear away brush, trash, etc., and to erect markers at each site detailing folks we know to be buried there. Of course, these names would be included only with no objection from family members, as there is a stigma attached with association to the Poor Farm. If anyone has some free time, we could really use some spare sets of eyes. At the following website-- http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ the State of Missouri makes available actual scanned images of death certificates from the years 1910 to 1957. A person can narrow a search down to the year and county, but there is no search engine available as to where one particular person or another is buried. We need folks that can pick a year, search through the names and pick out the folks that are buried in the Poor Farm, Poor House, County Farm, Alms House, or any other location that might be another name for this place. That way we can have as detailed a list of names as possible. Jack Fly and Ted Roller have researched plat maps, state, county, and local records, etc. and have uncovered a wealth of information. Mostly what we are after now is names. I'm going to start off with 1910. Since I have dial-up, it'll take a while, as a person has to view each image. I think it'll be worth it, though, as these lost souls have no one to remember them. If you could help out, please respond to the MOBARRY mailing list with a year between 1911 and 1957, and I'll keep track of who's doing what. Just e-mail me at jibberish66@yahoo.com with names and dates, and we'll do the rest. Thanks in advance for you help, everyone! jay trace ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
