I have come across an older looking magazine article amongst some other things in a deceased relative's scrapbook. The title of the article is "The Ozarks Little Sparkler" and it is about "the shortest standard-guage railroad in the world" which ran out of Casssville and went to Exeter and back. I haven't even read the whole thing yet but there is no date on it. The writers were apparently Hank and Vera Bradshaw. A man by the name of Burt Anderson is mentioned in it and is the engineer. Says he started with the C&E in 1908. Does anyone know anything about the two people who wrote the article that would help me figure out when it was written? I've Googled it and can't come up with a date for the article or the people either. Thanks, Deb (SHIPMAN) ROWE
Deb, Someone else mentioned that there is a paragraph on the C & E Railroad in Emory Melton's book _/The First 150 Years in Cassville./_ I looked through Thad Carter's book, _/Tracking the Past /_and did see mention of Bert Anderson as one of the first employees (along with John Beatty and Barney Bush). Not sure where to find more information on Hand and Vera Bradshaw, but I'll ask around.
