This is just a reminder of how to post obituaries on the Barry Co site. I've used the form three times now and it isn't difficult or I couldn't do it. Be to read what Donna said about copywrites. Here is where she first told us about the form with the link: "List Readers: I have the obit submission file on the web and ready for you to use. I think that this will be easier for both you to use than the old way we were doing them. I hope that you like it and that you will take advantage of using it and the new death certificate submission file, too. Obits - Please abstract your obits if they are recent or if they have "living" individuals included. Recent obits will be copyrighted, so it is, by all means, a good idea to abstract them so that we stay in good graces with the newspapers and also so that we do not violate the copyright laws. I know that some of you think that you own the obit because someone in your family is mentioned, but that is not the way it works. Please understand unless you paid for the obit - you don't own the copyright on it. Please do not post them on the list mailing or mail them in an open message to my e-mail box. If for some reason that you have to mail the abstract copy to me, place the typed copy in Note Pad or Word. No hard copies are going to be accepted. (On this one wait until she has recovered from her surgery) Submit obits here at this link. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits/subobit.htm In case you want to read the guidelines, they are posted in several places - here below is one place. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits.htm Obits that violate someone's rights or the copyright laws will be deleted.
