Jay, Judy, Piecing together what others have posted and a little of my own snooping, it appears George Lamphear stabbed his 23 year-old wife Reba to death with a pocket knife in Newton County on July 21, 1935. She was apparently removed to Lowell Kansas for burial. I missed the on-line death cert. for George (d. 1945) another lister mentioned, but see his parents, Barry County residents Chancy and Mintie Lamphear, would join thir son in Muncie Cemetery on their deaths in 1951 and 1954. Tombstone shots for George & parents are on the Muncie pages at the MOBarry site: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/munciechapel/mc-3.htm and death cert's for Reba and Joe's parents are among the 11 'hits' when you search "Lamphear" on the Missouri Archives site: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ There's also a Geo. W. and Mary Lamphear among those 11. George's grandparents?
