    3. Thank you for your kind words. As you said there are many people working to keep the information flowing. However, it is Donna who spends all the hours adding what the rest of us send, plus gathering information herself during her many trips to Barry Co. We hope she is back with us soon. Recently I had a conversation with Mr. Boling, Superintendent of the Roaring River State Park. He is wanting to restore the school house on the state park near Cassville, Mo. He would also like to furnish it as an old school house would be. I'm not sure if he would be able to use your services as the school house is on state property, or if you all are allow to help a school on state property. My mother, uncle and aunt all went to school in the Roaring River School. >From what they've told me the area wasn't a state park at that time. My mother and her brother, rode a pony to school and on bad days the teacher let them put "Billy" in the wood shed. 3. Oh yes!!! I think restoration of the oneroom school at Roaring River would be fabulous! What an absolutely perfect place to do something like this!!! It is a wonderful place for teachers to visit with classes and would do so much to preserve the history in a spot we dearly love!!! In miles, I am a bit removed from Roaring River since I live in Kansas City...but that shouldn't matter! I travel down all the time as my parents live in Joplin. I know I am getting way ahead of anything here, but I can tell you that if this project gets underway, I will happily volunteer my efforts to compile art related lessonplans that can evntually be downloaded for teachers to use with their students. Though retired, I am still a certified art educator for grades K-12 in Missouri and actually have Lifetime certification...so no problem! How fun it would be to design and contribute that aspect. I realize I am getting way ahead of myself but I think renovation of the oneroom schoolhouse you mentioned is a super idea! I'm sure others agree! There are of course all sorts of things that can be done to raise money for the effort if indeed it gets underway. Please let me investigate further with CSAA about applying for the grant money I mentioned as well as other means that might help. I will of course be in contact also with the gentleman you mentioned in your post. Thank you for your input! I'll keep in touch...and of course any and all of the super people on the List will I am sure get involved eventually too!!! How FUN!
