List Readers, this is a very busy corner of the world - Goodnight Cemetery, Phyllis Long submitted Elizabeth Ann (Betterton) Goodnight - note added - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/goodnight/goodnight.htm Truelove Cemetery - LoVella Moore submitted 3 yard shots and Darla Marbut sent us some information about the cemetery association that I posted on the front page. One of them has 4 or 5 old rock covered graves pictured in it. I wonder who is buried there in those graves. Neat photo, LoVella! They are hoping to raise money for a fence at Truelove. They have a sign made up with "True Love Cemetery" on it and want a fence to connect up to it. They said there was a little girl buried by herself at the edge of the cemetery; they would like to keep people from parking and driving over her. Okay - here we go again - isn't this cemetery named for the Truelove family and spelled Truelove? How did the Advertiser have it spelled? http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/truelove/truelove.htm Clay Hill Cemtery - will have more on this one tomorrow that I am going to post - I am re-doing all of the old pages on this one so it is taking me awhile to get to the new listing for it. Jim Wilson posted a note for both Hannah and John Ellis. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/clayhill/clayhill.htm Jennifer LeVaugh sent us some more VERY NICE old Bowers photos along our way with one of Walter Walters, too. They were for: Timothy Bowers as a boy, Oran and Frances (Owens) Bowers, Timothy and Josephine (Walters) Bowers, http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/index.htm Walter J. Walters. I would like to know what the emblem on his vest is and what it reads - and where he acquired it. Could it be a Civil War emblem? http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/waltersWalter.htm Josphine's brother Robert married Nancy Ellen Haddock, daughter of Richard Ransom and Sarah (Browning) Haddock. We have a photo of them on site - estimated taken in or about 1897. It is in Photo Book 2. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/index.htm The photo books all have new image headers - and Photo Book the oldest one just got a new one today. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/A-Family.htm Phyllis Long has been helping out on with the updating of the newspaper clips pages. We have several new pages on line now if you want to take a look at the progress. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/data/news/newspapers.htm Our thanks goes to our helpers LoVella Moore, Phyllis Long, Darla Marbut, Jim Wilson and Jennifer LeVaugh for our new items today. I think the medal Walter Walters is proudly wearing on his chest is a Grand Army of the Republic medal. Matthew McIntosh is also displaying one in this photo. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/mcintosh.fam.htm I enlarged the one on Matthews chest and it shows some detail. Donna, There is a photo of the sign and it reads True Love Cemetery. I always hear there was a family "Truelove" and it was named for them, but I don't know where or how I came by that information.
