List Readers, we have a lot of goodies this evening! Vicky Jenkins sent us some Oak Ridge photos for her dad, Dutch Beeson. I don't have the line up on them yet but hope she will send that information along soon. Included in her submissions were these: 2 with no date, 1939-40, 2 for 1941-42, 2 for 1947, and 1948-49. I didn't know that Kirtsey Still taught school at Oak Ridge, but he is pictured in one of the photos. You will probably remember we had him in an earlier date in a Peoples School photo. I know, too, that he taught at Washburn 7th and 8th grade in the late 1940's or early 1950's. He retired a teacher and is buried in Kings Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/o-index.htm And on the mills page - Vicky Jenkins sent us a photo of the Bowers - Marbut mill that was in the newspaper many moons ago. We have a real photo on that same page just like the one that was in the paper that Jennifer LeVaugh submitted that belonged to her grandmother. Vicky may have some Bowers information to share - census and information like that on the Bowers family. So if anyone is interested you might send her a note. Jennifer LeVaugh says that she hasn't proved that Robert Walters was a brother of William - in the photo that we had a few days ago, but she is working on it. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/mills/oldmills1.htm On the Whittington Cemetery - Phyllis Long submitted birth and death dates - Grant Cooper from his death certificate. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/whittington/whittington.htm Williams Cemetery - Phyllis Long submitted - Mary Dick, one we didn't have her listed - died in 1916. This information came from her death certificate. I bet there are a lot more unmarked graves there that we may find the "owners" for as time passes. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/williams/will.htm Purdy Cemetery - from Phyllis Long - from obits and death certificates - Isabelle Alvarez, George Henderson Berziel - name is sometimes found Braziel and Breazeal or Brazeale, etc. I believe he was born in Roane Co., TN. Grace Elefare (Crane) Cameron. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/purdy/purdy.htm When I look at all the good things that come in and that are posted on a daily bases, it sure makes me wonder how anyone could do Barry County genealogy without good old MoBarry. Thanks goes to Phyllis Long for her help with today's new items. And thanks goes to Vicky Jenkins for all these nice photos that she added! Please tell your dad thanks for us, too, Vicky. Donna Cooper
