List Readers: Betty Lamberson has helped us on the idefication of a photo we have that is in the Leroy Jeffries Collection that Bob Banks submitted. Betty said this: The county officers pictured on the courthouse steps. New identification: The Man 4th from left in the back row is John Silas McQueen. He served as Barry County treasurer several years and in the State legislature two terms and was earlier the First Postmaster of Wheaton in 1907. He was born April 30, 1877 in Lee County, VA. He died Jun 9 1960. The lady standing to his immediate right is his wife Lettie Lambert McQueen who was born 1877 and died 1942. Their children were Thelma McQueen Smith, Berniece McQueen Viles (both teachers in Barry County) and a son Malloy McQueen who was a Lawyer and worked for a short time as a lawyer in Cassville. He later worked in Jefferson City. J.
