    3. List Readers, I have a lot of new school photos for you today. 1955 - Cormus Grove, 1955 - Trent Creek, 1955 - Seven Star, 1955 - Maple Grove, 1955 - OK 1955 - Pleasant View 1947-1948 Buzzard Glory - I posted it as Mt. Pleasant as it is often called - but it is really called Pleasant View. So I put a note on the page and set up a new folder for Pleasant View. I hope this will lessen the confustion on that one.  These schools consolidated with Washburn and Seligman in 1954. They continued to use these one and two room school buildings for awhile but the high school students were bused to Washburn.   I understand from someone who went to school at O. K. that it was a two room building. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/index.htm Thanks goes to the Southwest RV 1960 Reunion committee group for these photos. Donna Cooper

    3. Oklahoma School, Oklahoma school...It was a two room school in the Rock building which was built during WPA Days by the WPA. about 1939 and still standing, It was built to replace and earlier wood building that burned in Janyary of 1936. In 1948 there were two teachers there Virginia Hariman, upper grades and My Mother Marguerite Higgs taught lower grades there. I was in the lower grades and my brother was in the upper grades that year. The next year it was only a one rooom school, I guess not enough students that year for two teachers. The partician between the the two rooms was large wood doors which were folding to make either two rooms or one room. There were two separate entrances., two separate cloak rooms and book rooms both identical. ssome years it was used as only a one room and others years as necessary it was two rooms. My Father attended school there also in the early 1900's and it is my understanding that it was a white clapboard building so typical of what was built around the county. in the article I wrote for the Wheaton Echoes book in 2007, I noted that at least two of the buildings were two room schools. it is my feeling that the wood building that burned Jamuary of 1936 was not the first structure on the site? but I have not found enough evidence to document that possibility.
