List Readers, I was just wondering if someone can tell me how Synthia Emeline (Beshears) Pippin, wife of John F. Pippin, was related to some of the other Beshears families in Barry County. I am thinking about Eli Beshears family - for one. At Rock Springs Cemetery - Synthia Emaline (Beshears) Pippin was added to the files by Phyllis Long from a death certificate and this was the one that got me to thinking about the Beshears. Jack Fly didn't find a stone for her when he did the photos back in 2007. I am not related to these families - but am curious about the relationship between the Beshears and other families.  Synthia Emeline had several siblings but I am thinking I may only have the family for one of her sisters - the one named Sarah who married Henry Thomas Pendergraft and some nieces and nephews who married into the Mahurin, Stephens and Cargile families. Synthia's father was Jess Beshears and he married Betsy Bell. They were early comers to Barry County - maybe before 1844 - am not sure about that.  Now, here is the big question - Eli Beshears who married Liza Cook, had a daughter Melvina who married William Oakley, a son of Benjamin and Mary Ann (Meyers) Oakley. Since Oakley Mountain was close by to the Rock Springs community I am thinking there must be a connection to these two Beshears families.  And as you probably already know Mary Ann was a daughter of Phillip and Margaret Meyers. Some of their children were Phillip, Barbara, Susan and Conrad - and there were others. These are the same Meyers who are also Moyers or Myers. Some are buried in Washburn Prairie Cemetery - but some also lived in Capps Creek Twp. - near Monett. Now, that I have got everyone awake - I must get back to the cemetery work that is at hand.
