    3. Good Morning, Since at the present time we have a mind set for Roller Cemetery at Garfield  I thought I'd choose a featured photo to go along with the same idea. So Jacob Roller is our feature for the week. As you know the Roller family belongs to both Benton Co., AR and to Barry Co., MO - and if that isn't enough McDonald County claims them, too.  I don't know what they called the beard that Jacob Roller has in this photo, but I bet it kept his neck warm. Thanks goes to Phyllis Long who submitted the photo of Jacob Roller some time back. Here below is what she had to say about Jacob. Jacob Roller Born: August 18, 1838, Roller's Ridge, Benton Co., AR Died: Jun 28, 1882, Barry Co., MO Buried Roller Cemetery, Near Garfield, Benton Co., AR He was a son of Jacob and Patsy (Brisco) Roller who came from Scott Co., VA Jacob married Catherine (Arnhart) Roller, Aug. 17, 1856 in Barry Co., MO http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm I have started working on the Roller Cemetery pages and have a few of the photos on line that Wilma Fields took for us. There are a lot of Barry County's early pioneers buried here and the cemetery is located just across the line - maybe less than a mile from Barry County. So, as guessed, these cemetery residents lived on both sides of the line. Many of them were born in Barry County and died in Benton County and vice-versa. You sure can't assume where they were born or died from the location of the cemetery because if you do - 90% of the time you will be wrong. I see on the web that some researchers list death places for these people as Barry County - but after running a check in the death certificates - as guessed - I see that they didn't die in Barry.  So, this is what I mean by no assumption will work for these families.  I am not a Roller family member so I hope I am getting all the notes correct for the cemetery. Anyway, if some of you Roller researchers want to add death certificate and obit post notes for me in the temporary cemetery folder that would be nice - and I sure would appreciate it. I don't want to be negative - but have to say this - please don't start sending notes for me to post to my e-mail boxes because I have so much stuff in both boxes that I would never find anything important in either one of them. It is like looking for a needle in a hay stack to go through the volume of mail that comes in every day.  The good news is that our temporary folders are easy to use. In case you haven't used them - all you have to do is just type and it will post your information to the web. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/roller-ar/roller-ar.htm Have a good Sunday and try and stay cool!
