    2. Stan: I have recently been doing some detailed research on the children of my great, great grandfather, Isham Hall Williams. He was born in Virginia, but at a young age traveled to Missouri with his neighbors, the Hilton family. He owned land in Barry County, and appears in there in the 1860 census. Subsequent census records show him living just across the county line in Lawrence County. Three of his daughters have connections to Hill County. Hill County is one county south and east of Johnson County. The first was Mary Easter Williams who married John Benson Peters of Stone County. They had two children (one named Osa) and then went to Texas. In the 1880 census their neighbors are Marion Harbert and James M. Williams. James is a first cousin to Mary Peters. In 1870, all adult members of these households are found in Barry County. Mary Peters died in 1881. Later in 1881, another sister Sarah Angeline Williams Rhudyard married John Davis Dickson in Hill County. They are in Cleburn, Johnson County when two children are born in 1887 and 1889. A third Williams sister, Martha Catherine came to Hill County after 1880, perhaps to care for the children of her deceased sister. She married James M. Hodges there in 1883. Two Hilton families are also found in Hill County in 1880. Isham Williams rounded up wild mustang horses in Texas and took them back to Missouri where they were sold. It is believed that the Peters, Harbert and Williams families were there in connection with the round up activity. I am also curious about the connection. Larry Wilson
