List readers, our featured photo for the week is one that Tony Martin submitted of his grandfather, Otis F. Nelson. Thanks, Tony for the nice photo and for sharing with us. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm We have about 200 users on Face Book on the Barry County GenWeb group. These users are a much younger crowd than what we have on the list mail, and a lot of them I have not seen their names on genealogy pages before. I don't know if they are just getting into genealogy or if they are curiosity seekers. Yesterday, discussions of the Ellis family and how the Washburn group is related to the group in the north part of county was what the talk was about, along with several other groups of families and photos posted. We are new on the web but 135 photos have been posted to the group. If you are part of the Roots Web list mail group - or on Face Book on the Barry County list for the GenWeb site - and want to be on the Barry County MOGenWeb group on Face Book - just let me know. Confusing? Yes. My good luck is holding - so far - on the Simpson family research and I have made contact with another descendant of America Melinda Simpson. She has a photo of her that I am waiting anxiously to see. I have waited 47 years for this moment so I can wait another day or two, I think. Another relative made the trip to Watson Cemetery in Pettygrew, Madison Co., AR, to take a photo of her mother's stone, that of Louisa Bristow Simpson Reed Allred. That one I have in my hot little hand and am trilled too that not only he but the other party has a photo of Louisa. America Melinda Simpson married or was connected to George Simpson in or about 1875, then in 1880 to John Wilkerson and then in 1886 to Elijah Poe Bailey. She died in 1910, I think. I do not have birth or death dates for her or know for sure where she is buried. I am guessing Hontubby Cemetery in Le Flore Co., OK, but am not sure. I don't have all the names of her children yet but am still hoping that someday we can figure that out, too. The moral to this story is if you wait long enough and don't give up that usually you will find the answers to the questions that you have. The problem is that I don't have another 50 years to wait so I am getting impatient. I have sheet rock mud to do today on a room that we refurbished from the old part of the house project. We almost have in the new part the electrical done and are working on the plumbing. We are trying to beat the clock so we can move back in before cold weather. Phyllis Long is working on cemeteries, helping out as a volunteer. She added a lot of new information to Mt. Pleasant and is presently working on those pages. She has carpal tunnel and can't do but a little at a time, however, she's getting there and her help is much appreciated! Have a good Sunday. Donna Cooper
